Frequently Asked Questions

Quick solutions to common plugin usage questions.

Getting Started

How do I get an API key for OpenAI or Google Gemini?
You can sign up for OpenAI at platform.openai.com or for Google Gemini at ai.google.dev. Both providers offer API access on a pay-as-you-go basis. Once you have a key, add it in the Diogen AI Settings page inside your WordPress admin area.
What WordPress version do I need?
Diogen AI requires WordPress version 6.2 and higher. It works with standard WordPress installations on all major hosting providers.

Content Generation

I get an error: "API request error: This model is currently experiencing high demand"
This error occurs when the selected AI provider is receiving too many requests and cannot process yours immediately. We recommend trying again in a few minutes, or switching to a different model or AI provider in your Diogen AI Settings.
Generation takes a very long time or times out. What can I do?
Generating comprehensive articles, particularly with multiple sections and images, can take time. If your server times out, consider increasing your server's max execution time.
Can I control the length and structure of generated articles?
Yes! In the basic version, you can specify article length and number of images. In PRO, you have access to different writing styles (Creative, Technical, Academic, Conversational) and you can also specify a custom article outline that the AI will follow.
How do I avoid duplicate topics?
Diogen AI automatically prevents duplicate content by checking if an article with a similar title or target topic has already been published on your site.

Scheduling & Autopilot (PRO)

My scheduled posts aren't publishing. What's wrong?
Diogen AI PRO relies on WordPress cron to run scheduled tasks. If your site has very low traffic, cron jobs might not trigger regularly. We recommend setting up a server-side cron job natively (e.g., via cPanel) to hit wp-cron.php every 5-15 minutes.
How does the cron-based scheduling work?
You can define exactly how often content should be generated (e.g., Every hour, Twice daily, Every week). As long as your site's wp-cron is active, Diogen will grab a topic from your queue and automatically draft and publish it without manual intervention.

General

How do I update the plugin?
You can update the plugin directly from your WordPress Dashboard under Plugins. If you use the PRO version, automatic updates will also appear there as long as your license key is active.
Will I lose my content if I deactivate the plugin?
No! All articles and images generated by Diogen AI are saved natively as standard WordPress Posts and Media attachments. Deactivating the plugin will NOT delete any of this content.
Where can I find the generation logs?
You can view the detailed generation history directly inside the Diogen AI dashboard under the "Logs" tab. This is extremely helpful for verifying your scheduled autopilot runs.
